Not-So-Lazy Summer Afternoon Camp

For the camper who can’t get enough — or the late sleeper — SRA brings you the Not-So-Lazy Summer Afternoon Camp. Bring a packed lunch and spend an extra two hours playing, crafting, and spending time with friends. Each week is centered around a theme. Campers may also enroll in Summer Day Camp or Sports Camp, or they may attend the afternoon session only.

SRA will not organize a “walking bus” to Swarthmore Swim Club in Summer 2024. SRA will make a counselor babysitter list available in late spring if you would like to make a private arrangement for your counselor.

CAMP DIRECTOR: Renee Strehle, Swarthmore-Rutledge School 5th grade teacher and long-time SRA Camp head counselor

ASSISTANT CAMP DIRECTOR: Megan Richardson, elementary teacher and former SRA camper and long-time assistant and head camp counselor

WHO: Rising kindergartners through 7th-graders

WHEN: Mondays through Thursdays for 5 weeks, 11:45AM-1:45PM

• June 24 – June 27
• July 1-3 (no camp Thursday, July 4) 
• July 8-11
• July 15-18 
• July 22-25

WHERE: Swarthmore-Rutledge School, 100 College Avenue, Swarthmore

REGISTRATION FEE: $475 for all 5 weeks if you register before April 1, 2024; on April 1 fee is $525.

$105 per week ($85 for week of July 1-3) if you register before April 1, 2024.

$115 per week ($95 for week of July 1-3) if you register before June 3, 2024 (when registration closes.) 

REFUND POLICY: Once your child is registered, all changes – including the week of attendance – are subject to a $25 administrative fee. If you need to cancel registration for a particular week, please contact SRA Assistant Director, Nika Haase, in writing at nika@SwarthmoreRecreation.org. (The amount of your refund is governed by the SRA Refund Policy.) You may register your child for another week through the registrations links. If the week is filled, the registration link will say so.
